khandi has been
performing since age nine. her
studio recording credits include toto magabe (brazilian
recording star), malaku daku
(phila, pa recording artist - love drums from the ghetto - album title), the
everybody band (phila, pa recording artist), nanikha a
cappella singers (which khandi co-founded), and her own solo audio
recordings: a symphony in a cappella and fall equinox. she
has performed on stages with such artists as take six, sweet honey in the rock, and aljamiun a
cappella singers, in an all a cappella extravaganza on the uptown stage in
richard allen city (filthydelphia, pa); gil scott heron, who's been
an extended family big brotha to khandi since teen-age; monette sudler; sun ra kosmic arkestra
(where khandi performed with him as vocalist and dancer at age 13 on the appolo
stage in nyc); sonya sanchez,
who is not only an extended family big sis but who would give of her time and
energy as a guest lecturer and educator at cowak independent
afrikan shule (with no pay of course), thanx sis; afrikan women's sekere
ensemble; and soul in motion
players, a theater company which she co-founded with her brotha kambui

khandi sings in 13
languages, is a lyricist, composer,
poet, essayist, an accomplished-published author
and lecturer, afrikan story teller, afrikan hair skulptress,
sketch artist,
afrikan doll maker, and sekere crafts-woman
and performer. her one woman show has rendered her critics quoting, "...not just
entertainment but an educational extravaganza."
khandi played the roll of sarah in the outdoor
production of blue jacket, the only black female character
in a cast and crew of over 85 persons.

she taught, lectured, administrated, counseled, tutored,
mentored, and performed for the independent afrikan school system, for which she
co-founded 4 independent afrikan
schools in 2 states, 3 cities and Jamaica. Her experience has prepared her
to interact on all age/ethnic levels with all types of people, sharing her vocal
harmonies and her afrikan-turtle islander-washitaw ancestry through song. born

(philly, pa), where she is alumni of ile ife cultural arts center,
theater advocate and company (model cities-ile ife colaboration with the church of the advocate), mother
of 14 children, she offers the maternal intimate blend necessary to make any
residency not only culturally educational, but also exciting to see and hear;
producing soothing, relaxing, rejuvenating atmosphere for your listening
pleasure....
